Perseverance

PerserveranceBut he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Yesterday my wife, Kathy, passed (with flying colors)her certification exam which allows her to be a Personal Fitness Trainer in the YMCA network. She will now be able to take on personal training clients at the Y.

While in most circumstances this is a really cool accomplishment, in this case it’s even greater. Kathy has a chronic disease which has severe physical limitations. Not only that, but it also carries pronounced cognitive impairments as well which makes studying and information retention exponentially more difficult. So this is a huge accomplishment.

Now, in typical Kathy style, she is not content with this. She is already beginning preparation to ‘press on’ (just like Paul) to a greater goal. She now has her sights set on a nationally recognized ACE certification…

She continues to be a wonderful example of perseverance to everyone who comes in contact with her. The Lord continues to use her to touch people, give example to our children and I am blessed everyday by her.

  1. She is an amazing gal and deserves much congratulations. And to think she can do this while being a full time mom, active in ministry and married to you. I’m sure that last part is the most challenging of all.

  2. Now there’s a funny guy…

  3. Ok, Buddy makes me out to be more than I am! Sitting down and accepting my “limitations” is just not an option. Why? Because I have children that look to me as an example of how to “be” in times of challenges. I am able to do what I do because I have an amazing husband that takes on so much more than he should at times so that I can rest or do whatever it is that I need to do. Thank you for being there through sickness and health and all of the in between times! I love you more than words can express.

  4. Love you too baby!! You’re my hero.

  5. Sheesh.

  6. Kathy. Wow! I mean really, wow. I am so impressed and proud of you!

  7. Thanks Tam! How have YOU been?

  8. Wow. I’m impressed and feeling somewhat lazy…I know I’m not, at least my husband tells me I’m not.

Good for you and Buddy – glad you’re able.
